Review: Trivium - Silence in the Snow Tour 10/19/16

November 2, 2016

Florida’s own Trivium returned to Fort Lauderdale on October 19th at Revolution Live for their Silence in the Snow Fall Tour. Huntress kicked off the night with Jill Janus’ powerhouse metal vocals, and plenty of costume changes. She is definitely a killer front woman, that keeps the audience engaged throughout the set. Following Huntress was Sweden’s power metal titans, Sabaton. The crowd was absolutely wild for them and chanted along to their historical songs. Sabaton’s high energy was prominent throughout their entire set, with smiles from all the band members, these guys know how to command an audience. After their set was completed, the crowd continued to chant for “Sabaton” well after they had exited the stage. It was a truly exceptional performance.

Trivium kicked off the headline act by pumping up the crowd with “Run to The Hills” by Iron Maiden before taking the stage. Playing less than a handful of newer songs, such as “Silence in the Snow” and “Until the World Goes Cold,” the setlist was a definitely heavy on older hits. The Florida crowds for Trivium are always a treat, you know this is not the majorities first Trivium show, and the love the audience gives to them makes that evident. Plenty of moshpits broke out to the older songs like “Pull Harder on the Strings of Your Martyr” and “A Gunshot to the Head of Trepidation.”  The band closed out the night following a drum solo with the popular 2011 release “In Waves.”

This was our third time seeing Trivium this year, but with the previous two shows being outdoor daytime sets at festivals, it was great to see Trivium truly in their element.
