Anderson .Paak | Best Teef in the Game Tour in Baltimore

MECU Pavilion aka Pier Six Pavilion located at the Inner Harbor Baltimore, Maryland, is a music venue, which opened in 1981. It has featured a wide variety of music acts from rock to jazz, if you happen to be in Baltimore the month of July get your tickets to: Mayday Parade on July 12th and Godsmack on July 14th.

Grammy winner of Best Rap Performance (2019) for “Bubblin” Anderson .Paak aka Breezy Lovejoy is a singer, songwriter, rapper, producer and a multi-instrumentalist that made his debut at the MECU Pavilion on May 28th, 2019. Paak’s saxophonist walked out onto a pitch dark stage while laying down some moody, melodic vibes, his guitarists chimed in with some super funky contemporary R&B riffs -- It’s about to go down you can feel it in the riffs, you just know it isn’t going to be the usual walk out on stage entrance either…. you can hear drum beats but you can’t see where the sound is coming from, you scan to the left then to the right -- nothing. The sound is so freaking funky you can’t help but get caught up in it.

Holy shit Paak is playing the drums while being hoisted on a platform hovering high above the stage. The crowd erupts and the entire place goes wild, Paak has made the entrance of a lifetime and his fans can’t get enough of him. Paak’s glasses were very fetch! That super tricked out opening set the tone for the rest of the night, laying down a twenty-two song set! Paak’s set list featured five songs each from Oxnard (2018) and Ventura (2019); his second album Malibu (2016) stole the show featuring six songs from that album, which included the opener “Heart Don’t Stand a Chance” and two of the encore songs “Am I Wrong” and “Lite Weight.”

Paak has released four studio albums; Oxnard which is his third studio album released by 12 Tone Music, Aftermath Entertainment, and OBE. This album features guest appearances from Kendrick Lamar, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and J. Cole to name a few. Ventura, Paak’s fourth studio album released this year features guest appearances from Smokey Robinson, Brandy, and the late Nate Dogg amongst others. Ventura debuted at number four on the US Billboard 200 and I definitely can see why: it’s fresh. it’s rich, and has a totally 70’s soulful vibe! Paak’s “The Best Teef in the Game Tour” was an amazing ride via his last three albums… Paak owned “charmed city” even if only for a night.
