Review: Less Than Jake at Culture Room

Less than Jake returned to the Culture Room on March 19th, 2016 with Fallen From the Sky and Beebs and Her Money Makers as support. Five years ago to the day, Fallen From the Sky and Less Than Jake shared the same stage together, and many of the people in attendance boasted the nostalgia of how they'd been at the previous show as well.

The tour was a dual night per city show with Less Than Jake playing their full album Losing Streak the first night, and Hello Rockview the second. The Culture Room stop in Fort Lauderdale was the last two shows of the tour, and the people came out in droves to hear the albums in their entireties. The cities lucky enough to have this tour stop in were all smaller club shows, Less Than Jake really going back to their roots with the close-knit family aspect of their shows. I was lucky t o catch the Losing Streak night of the tour, which was the first night in Fort Lauderdale. The first track of the Losing Streak album happens to be Automatic which already is an extremely popular LTJ hit that always gets the crowd going wild at their live shows. The band ripped through the album ’ s tracks and it was a true pleasure to hear songs that have not been played live in years, and some of them, ever. After playing through Losing Streak, LTJ finished off the set with a handful of popular songs off their various other records. It's great to see a band that's been around for over 20 years catering to the fans and bringing their older music to the stage for their entertainment.
