DIIV Drown Lincoln Hall in Sound at Tomorrow Never Knows Festival

DIIV’s Tomorrow Never Knows set at Lincoln Hall felt like a rare chance to experience the band at their most immersive in an intimate room. With the venue packed and buzzing, the shoegaze outfit leaned fully into atmosphere, letting their swirling guitars and dense low end wash over the crowd. It was the kind of setting where DIIV’s music thrives—close, loud, and enveloping.

Opening with “In Amber,” the band immediately locked into a steady, hypnotic groove, balancing hazy textures with moments of clarity and propulsion. Songs like “Under the Sun” and “Blankenship” carried a quiet urgency, their melodies drifting above sheets of distortion while the rhythm section kept everything grounded. The sound was thick but controlled, filling Lincoln Hall without ever tipping into chaos.

Closing with a cathartic “Doused,” DIIV delivered a set that felt both meditative and emotionally charged—less about spectacle, more about immersion. As part of TNK’s anniversary lineup, the show stood out for its intimacy and focus, proving once again how powerful DIIV can be when given a room willing to sink into their world.
