Riot Fest, celebrated its 15th anniversary Sept. 13-15, bringing an array of artists to Chicago’s Douglas Park for three days of jam-packed music. The festival, known for reunion performances by such bands as The Replacements, Jawbraker and The Misfits continue in that tradition. This year the recently reunited Bikini Kill headlined night three, playing Chicago for the first time in 21 years. Riot Fest 2019 also included the final Chicago performances from Slayer and The B-52s.
This year’s festival also included a slew of full-album performances including the Flaming Lips performing Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, Ween performing The Mollusk, Bloc Party (Silent Alarm), Avail (Over The James), Taking Back Sunday (Tell All Your Friends and Louder Now), Dashboard Confessional (The Places You Have Come To Fear The Most), and Against Me! (Reinventing Axl Rose and Transgender Dysphoria Blues).
